Intelligent backups

Alcion offers an AI-driven Intelligent Backup feature that schedules backups around the times when a user is predicted to be most active. This allows the platform to capture more distinct versions of data during active periods instead of scheduling multiple backups when the user is less active (for example, when asleep). By taking more frequent backups when data is changing, intelligent backups can also help improve the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) by attempting to reduce the time between when the last backup was taken and when a potential data corruption or deletion happens.

For privacy reasons, the intelligent backup feature doesn't examine customer data. Instead, it uses other inputs such as:

• Time zone of the user
• Modification times for backup items belonging to the user
• High-frequency and/or high volume user activity (for example, when most emails are received)
